Grow in faith |
Dear Lord, worship and Bible study,
that’s how I grow in faith. Bringing others with
me would be a good way to help them mature in
their faith. Fan the coals of my faith, add some
fuel, make it burst into flame again so that I
invite with a humble boldness, in Christ.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Improving marriage |
O Lord, someone has said marriages are
made in heaven, and I trust that you have made
our marriage. But many times our marriage is not
very heavenly. We don’t understand each other.
We have different habits. We get on each other’s
nerves. We don’t talk. We fight. Forgive us,
Lord, for our failings. Forgive me for my lack
of patience and tolerance and unselfish love.
Give us strength and wisdom, O God, to work
through our differences and build a strong
marriage. Work in us a spirit of love and
forgiveness even as you have loved and forgiven
us for Jesus’ sake. Stay with us by your Spirit
and rule in our lives by your Word. May our
lives together testify to the glory of your name
in Christ.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Living together |
Dear Lord, my daughter is living with her
boyfriend. It breaks my heart. They are sinning
and I know that sin pulls everyone away from
you. Lord, what do I say? How can I reach them?
Please help me speak up, telling them that they
are breaking the standards you set. Give me true
patience to reach out with love, not hurt, pain,
or anger.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Love |
Dear Lord, love has gotten a bad rap. We
need to get it clear. Love is giving. Giving
your hands, your feet, your head, your life.
Jesus did that. Because of his love we have
forgiveness and life. That’s clear. Now help us
to imitate Christ in our own life.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Relationships |
Dear Father, relationships are so hard
these days. The world lies to us, shouting that
marriages can’t last, that sex comes without
commitment, and that love is whatever we want it
to be. Help us tune out the voices that lie to
us and try deceive us about true love between a
man and woman. Give us strength when we’re
tempted. Give us commitment when we’re scared.
Give us your perfect love so we can show the
world what you want love to be.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Repentance |
Dear Lord, when I do something wrong I
would just as soon hide. I know your all—seeing
eyes search me out. Help me to be up front and
say I’m sorry. Forgiven in Christ, keep me on
your straight path.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Sleeplessness |
O my God, merciful Savior, I spent
another sleepless night last night. It happens
so often I'm afraid it will hurt my health. Why
can't I just relax and sleep? Help me, Lord.
Help me to recognize and correct any bad eating
habits or work habits that may be contributing
to my sleeplessness. Send your Spirit to calm my
troubled heart by the knowledge of your love.
Keep me mindful of your care, so I may truly be
care free in my sleep. Cradle me in your
protective arms. Fill my mind with the good
thoughts of your gospel, and push out the
troublesome thoughts that boil and bubble
inside. Comfort me with the rest that comes only
from you,
for your name's sake. Amen.

Stress |
Dear Lord, today just stressed me out.
I’m overwhelmed by everything. It seems like I
never have a quiet moment and I won’t ever find
peace. Help me realize that you give me true
peace. Slow me down, help me take a deep breath
and remember that you are always with me.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Troubled Marriages |
Dear God, you know that my marriage isn’t
following your standard. My spouse and I are
fighting, neglecting you. We’re so angry,
neither one of us can see straight. This isn’t
what I had in mind. This isn’t how it was
supposed to be. Please help us. Right now,
you’re the only one who has the power to change
this marriage. Work in us. Give us patience and
commitment to fulfill our vow, even when neither
one of us really wants to. I know this won’t be
easy, but you are God and you can do anything.
We need you.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Why |
Heavenly Father, this question gets asked
a lot. "Why, O Lord, do you stand far off?" "My
God, my God why have you forsaken me?" "Why me,
Lord?" Help us to see your answer to our prayer
is a person. Our answer is Jesus Christ. Was his
"Why" answered? You answered it Lord by lifting
him from the cross, raising him from the grave
and granting him eternal life. Help us to get
our answer in that same divine plan.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
