With so many people
writing in reeling from
the shock of an
unexpected heartbreak it
made me realize how many
women (and men) sell
themselves short in the
area of "love". It
usually isn't until we
have traveled through
the wilderness of this
life shattering
situation that we start
to take a closer look at
how we ended up on this
trip and sometimes it
isn't our first time
traveling this
heartbreak road.
Ladies (and guys) it's
time to stop selling
yourself short for
mislabeled love. Not
wanting to be alone, not
having enough money, or
not believing you are
entitled to anything
better than a one-sided
relationship are not a
good enough reason to
waste the most precious
gift God gives us. The
gift of true love with a
person He has chosen for
you.
There are a few elements
that make up love.
Without them, love does
not exist. No matter how
many "good times" you
can recall, love has to
have a few necessary
components in order to
be love.
The most necessary of
all of the elements is
respect. Without
respect, love simply
does not exist.
Self respect has to be
present in order for you
to recognize lack of
respect from someone who
says they "love" you.
If the person you've
given your heart to is
verbally, physically or
emotionally abusive they
do not respect you.
These actions do not
entail love.
If he or she lies, hides
things from you or
cheats, this is not
love.
If the person you "love"
is emotionally absent,
unaffectionate or
doesn't participate in
the commitment you made
to each other, this is
not love.
What worth do you put on
yourself? Do you feel
that you're not worthy
of being treated kindly,
honestly, fairly, with
affection and regard? If
not, ask yourself why?
Once you've looked at
why you are so willing
to accept anything but
the best you can begin
to ask god to help you
rid your soul of these
things! HE WILL!!
The second most
important element is
trust. Then add
devotion, commitment,
affection and loyalty.
These elements are
necessary components of
true love.
Are you pinning over a
relationship that lacks
the elements of true
love? Are you settling
for less than God's best
simply so you won't be
alone?
If the answer to that
question is a meek and
feeble "yes" or a "well,
maybe" ask yourself why?
If you're praying for
God to restore the
relationship and feel
frustrated and
discouraged because He
hasn't answered and sent
the person back, then
maybe it's time to take
a closer look at what
your praying for.
Remember, once you've
asked the lord into your
situation He is NOT
going to bless you with
an answer that will hurt
you or cause you to fall
away from Him.
Although your heart
maybe be pinning for a
person who treated you
badly; but who you had a
few good times with,
God's plans are to bless
you with His best.
So what do you do? How
should you pray?
The answer is to focus
on you. As hard as it is
to tear your focus off
of the one who has hurt
you God wants to use
this time to purge the
things from your heart
that cause you to accept
less than His best!
He wants to show you
love through His eyes so
that when the time comes
for you to make a
decision about who to
love, you'll know what
not to accept! Actually,
you won't make the
decision without His
guidance and THAT can
ONLY result in HIS BEST!
I know how hard it is to
just turn your feelings
off and I'm not saying
that all relationships
that lack the elements
above can't be fixed but
wouldn't you rather be
with a person who
respects you? A person
who treats you with
kindness and affection
and shares their heart
and their dreams and is
living life along side
of you instead of ahead,
behind or anywhere but
WITH you?
Wouldn't you rather be
with a person who really
loves you? Give that
person to God, release
him or her to the Lord
and believe that God
will do a special work
in them too but in the
meantime, focus on you.
Allowing the Lord to
fill the place of the
one who has hurt you is
the very best way to get
to know Him and in doing
so you'll realize that
He will never hurt you,
never leave you or cheat
on you. He'll be the
friend you can talk to
about the hurts you have
in your heart and little
by little as you open
your heart and realize
that with God on your
side, nothing is
impossible you will find
hope and peace knowing
the answer he gives you
will be magnificent!
EVERYONE who is dealing
with heartbreak wants
relief. You want the
pain and loneliness to
go away and you want
life to go back to
normal. The quickest way
to receive God's perfect
answer, the answer that
is going to fill your
heart with peace and joy
is to focus on God and
what He wants to do in
you! The quicker you
learn what He is trying
to teach you the faster
you will receive that
answer and I guarantee
the answer will be
perfect!
Don't sell your heart
short for anyone no
matter how afraid you
are of being without
them. Don't love someone
because you need them,
need them because you
love them.
I'm here to help you
through every single
step of the heartbreak
journey, don't give up
because your miracle is
there! You need only
stay the path god has
for you to reach it!
Until we meet
again-simply believe!
