Standing for the restoration of a
marriage or relationship is the hardest
thing we'll ever do in life. In the
beginning, you deal with the abrupt
changes that have come about as a result
of the person you love leaving or
betraying you. Then, one day, you
realize that there is Someone who is
capable of fixing the unfixable and you
begin a new journey in life with The
Lord. Hope and expectation begin to
replace feelings of dispair and
hopelessness but the question of "how
long" is always on your mind. Right?
Some days are good and some days you
feel like you're right back at square
one, wondering when the Lord will make
good on the promises you've read about
in the Bible.
Now, I am not a fortune teller or a
prophet; but I've learned a lot about
standing for a marriage or God blessed
relationship and over the past
eight-years one of the things I've
learned the most about is God's timing.
There are few things more frustrating
than waiting on the answer to a prayer;
but it doesn't HAVE to be frustrating OR
spent feeling like you are constantly
walking around with a rock on your
chest. Believe it or not, you can
actually enjoy and dare I say, LIKE the
time spent waiting.
Although some folks will try to sugar
coat the answer to the question, "How
Long is this going to take Lord?" I like
to cut to the chase and give it to you
point blank.
When you love God more than you love
anything or anyone else in this world,
that's when you're ready. It's as simple
as that!
This applies to anything you might be
waiting on an answer for. A Person, a
thing, money, a job, etc.
"Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and
with all your strength and with all your
mind" (Luke 10:27)
Since we deal mostly with matters of the
heart that focus on another person we
can address it from that point.
Do you honestly love God more than you
love the person your pinning for? Does
the thought of the Lord not being in
your life leave you feeling the way you
feel without your significant other
being present?
If God were to leave, would you feel as
devestated about it as you did when your
human counterpart left? Would you cry
yourself to sleep? Would you be unable
to efficiantly function each day? Would
your mind be filled with nothing but
thoughts of The Lord and how you can get
Him back?
If you can honestly answer that you
would be as grief stricken about the
Lord leaving or not being present as you
feel about the man (or woman) then you
are spedning your days filled with hope,
peace and joy and best of all TRUST!
You KNOW that no matter what happens,
you've got The Lord on your side and
there is no human being that can do for
you what HE can! Good for YOU!! Your
answer is not far off!
Now let's look at it from the pother
point of view. It doesn't matter how you
answer that question on the surface, the
true answer to it lies within your
heart, where the Lord can read you
better than you can read you. He KNOWS
the honest answer to that question
regardless of what answer slips through
your lips.
So many people travel through life
searching for the fullfilment of love in
other people and things, when in
reality, all you need to do is surrender
EVERYTHING to Him and he will fill your
heart unlike anything any human can do
for you! Once your heart belongs to Him,
he finishes the picture by adding the
people and things in our lives
that complete us. With Him at the
center, we have the assurance that He
will always be there to protect and
guide us; but so many people search for
this incredible love in humans.
Women are the worst, we think we have to
have a man in our lives to fill our
hearts with love and in many cases we
accept anything but love. We allow men
into our lives that don't repsect us,
abuse us, betray us and out of fear of
being alone we settle for that and label
it love. Then, the man up and leaves and
we fall to our knees begging God to
bring them back! Why? Because we were
built to love, we live to love and
somewhere along the line, we went off
track and believed that the truest and
most fulfilling form of love comes from
above.
The Bible tells us that it is impossible
to serve two masters, in many cases the
second master is money but in a lot of
cases the other master is a man (or
woman) and if you feel like you can't
live without the person you're
heartbroken over, if you can't function
or imagine life or happiness without
them, you've made them a second master
or dare I say, an idol. Any desire that
becomes so important in our lives that
it casues us to lose site of God's love
and grace is taking us away from and out
of God's will.
"No servant can serve two masters.
Either he will hate the one and love the
other, or he will be devoted to the one
and despise the other. You cannot serve
both God and Money."(NIV,
Luke 16:13)
NOTHING or NO ONE compares to the love
of God! Do you believe He would give you
an answer that would hurt you or pull
you away from Him again? He promises not
too. HE WON'T!
"...Or what man is there of you,
whom if his son ask bread, will he give
him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will
he give him a serpent? If ye then,
being evil, know how to give good gifts
unto your children, how much more shall
your Father which is in heaven give good
things to them that ask him?" (Matthew
9:7-11)
Once you've realized that what you are
searching for and praying for has always
been right in front of you and all you
need to do is surrender your fears of
"what if I end up alone" and all those
other lies the devil whispers into our
ears and simply open your heart and say
"I AM READY FATHER, FOR YOUR LOVE!" He
will retrain your heart and mind and
show you how to love and how to
BE loved accroding to
HIS plan and I guarantee you will NOT be
disappointed!
It may not seem like it at the moment,
but you are in a WIN-WIN situation when
you surrender it ALL to God and let HIM
direct your heart! When you finally
reach the point where you are sincerely
ready to do that, hang on because you'll
see the miraculous manifest in your life
quicker than you could ever have
imagined it!
Until we meet again...SIMPLY BELIEVE!
